Last week I prepared a small presentation for Joël Grand-Guillaume (from Camptocamp), describing my thoughs on improving the OpenERP accounting performance using precalculated sums. On the presentation I write about the problems of the current implementation of account.__compute (that calculates the debit/credit/balance for a given account), and some alternatives: The 'Trigger based' alternative proposed by Ferdinand (from Chricar) and my 'ORM based' proposal.

The presentation was meant to share my ideas with Joël, so he could discuss the topic on the accounting and performance workshops at the OpenERP Community Days; but I think the topic may be of interest to other OpenERP accounting experts, so I decided to share the presentation with everybody :)
